Why should I vote for TU-FAIR?
In December a new staff council will be elected at the university for the next four years. Therefore you will soon receive election information about the staff council lists to be elected. Some of you will now ask yourselves: “What does this concern me anyway? This does not concern me at all!”. The Staff Council is your representation of the employees at the TU - independent of the employer - and the work of this body is extremely important for all employees of our university.
Should you, for example, find yourself in a situation where you need help in solving a problem or simply wish to obtain information, you will need members of the Staff Council who are competent in all matters and willing to support you.
Only an independent and competent staff council can achieve a FAIR balance between the interests of the employees and those of the employer!
Trade Union Independence
TU-FAIR is a list independent of politics and trade unions, which has successfully participated in staff council elections since 2012. The last eight years have shown that our list TU-FAIR has brought greater diversity to the Staff Council, and we have contributed significantly to the successful work of the soon-to-be-ended term of office. In return, TU-FAIR members have received further training in important topics, such as collective bargaining law and occupational health and safety, and have thus been able to competently represent and advise numerous colleagues.
The Covid 19 pandemic and the resulting overnight necessity of working in the home office show that digitization at the TU Berlin must be further advanced. The implementation of large IT projects is also a challenge for the Staff Council, because the rights of the employees - keyword: performance and behavior control - must be protected when new software is introduced. On our TU-FAIR list there are several candidates who are working in different IT areas at the TU Berlin and therefore have the necessary expertise to successfully represent your interests in these matters as well.
In addition to the digitization of the administration, other projects are pending that require the intensive support of the Staff Council, for example:
- Reassessment of administrative positions in the faculties
- Conclusion of the service agreement “mobile working
- Establishment of the company health management
- Introduction of conflict management
- Launch of the “tubstart 2020” program by the Presiding Committee
In order to effectively represent your interests, a strong and well-functioning staff council is of great importance to all of us.
Therefore, please make use of your right to vote and decide how you want to be represented by your staff council for the next four years! Vote for TU-FAIR!
